A Cloth book

I made this a week or two ago but couldn't post until Kimberly got it in the mail! It's a little cloth book for Caroline's friend Ava. Hopefully I can make one for Caroline soon.

Almost okay....

Wow- it's been a long time since I posted. This week is VBS at church so things have been very busy. But, a little update on my hair...
This sounds so woe-is-me, but I really have been hating my hair, which I don't think has ever happened. I've always been able to do something with it, kwim? Ugh- I just felt like every day I looked like a boy, or one of those moms who has super short I-don't-care hair.
Well, praise the Lord because today I parted it on the other side and got crazy and let it flip out a little (my hair loves to flip). I kind of like how it looks. Actuallyt, I really like how it looks compared to before.




And yes, my head is cocked in that last one so it's not that crooked!

eta- I'm wearing my uber-cool "Camp Commitment" shirt to advertise for Teen Camp tonight at VBS. Just had to let you know that.

Bananas, ducks, and a sleepy baby

First, Caroline eating a whole banana.


Then, these geese (ducks? birds?) were crossing the road on the way to church Friday- look at all the babies!


And finally, little Caroline is so stuffy that she has a harder time getting to sleep. Add to that the fact that she was over-tired and you've pretty much lost a chance for a nap.
No need to fear, Beco Butterfly is here! I put her in and um, 'did some housework' and zzzzzz out she went.

Fixed my hair!!

I was so unhappy with my hair that I had to cut it. Right away. Couldn't even wait for Heather to drive down. So, here are the before and after pics. You can tell how incredible upset I am in the "before".

From the front- see that little flip on the right at the bottom?


From the back- it looks like a layer from the back, but it's really just one small mullet-y section.

Then I chopped this piece off....


and....TADA!


Much better. Yahoo! It's a little crooked but not bad. My sister is going to straighten that out. (Right, sister?) ;-)

New wrap and new hair

I have two new things and I'm not sure how much I like either of them. Well, I really love the wrap but I just liked how that sentence sounded.

First, a wrap for all my babywearing.

I still love my Beco Butterfly and my Didymos, but I wanted a thinner wrap for the hot, hot summer. So I got this mystery fabric at the $1 table at Walmart. I'm sure it's synthetic but I like it and it feels woven-ish. A little bit.


The best part is this star that I ironed on. It marks the middle of the wrap so I can put it on right.



And the rails have different color stitching so I can tell which one is which while I'm wrapping. (Wow, what alliteration!)


I also got my hair cut and I'm still unsure about this one. Here are pictures from my web cam. I'll add more later when I wash and fix it again.



And yes, a video- I have no idea why this is sped up. I was moving a lot slower than that IRL.

The Song of the Strawberry

Caroline has a new way of saying strawberry- check it out.

We did it!

So I finally caught a pee in the potty. Woohoo! I decided that I might not be able to notice Carolinen's signs and cues, but I might just have to go by a time-fram when she might need to go.
So after she woke up I let her sit on the potty and I put a prefold over it because I've gotten her so used to peeing in a diaper that she has a hard time wetting into the potty. So that must have made the difference because a few minutes later (we played on the potty for a little while) she stood up and there was a wet spot! I didn't take any pictures of that! But here are a few of this morning while we camped out in the restroom.
